The EE braggers thread!!!

thanks, and yes, it's the same one, biggest ham of the bunch... I was questioning this one as well... hoping it's a pullet... I paid extra for all girls, but there is always room for error... I can't keep any more boys tho' so... if it turns out to be a boy, he's gone, but I do have a friend who is looking for a single roo.
(S)he reminds me so much of my Oreo at that age, who was also supose to be a girl. From day one a huge ham, and still is.

I was thinking boy as well. Every roo that I have had (from day old) had posed like that lol. Ya never know tho -- could just be a butch beauty

That's good that your friend is looking for one at least-- you'll get to watch him grow if he is indeed a he

well... if that's the case, I may swap out one of the other roos in exchange for this one... your Oreo is so awesome... my Royce has no beard or muffs, but he's colorful and a very good rooster as behavior goes. good protector/provider and gentlemanly with his ladies... don't want to use him for breeding, but he is worth keeping for his other skills. have to wait and see...

the pose... is sorta catching them off balance... and a few of them do it from time to time

Yes, but look at his body language in the two group shots he is in at the bottom w/ the red background. In the pic on the right you can see the off balance chick in the background, but the poss boy in question is still posing taller then the others.

But I do have my fingers crossed for a girl for you (you may want to consider crossing your toes too!!!! lol lol )

I recently got 4 EE chicks. The 2 from My Pet Chicken have tufts on their cheeks - they were obvious immediately when I opened their box. The two I received this week from Meyer Hatchery do not have tufts (unfortunately the prettiest one died). Are the cheek tufts a typical EE trait? I have seen chicks on this thread without them. Does it have anything to do with the color egg they may lay or male/female trait?

I have two MPC EE bantams. One has tufts, one does not. It depends on the bird.

I'd love to get your advice on the gender of my 5 week old EE. Her comb isnt very developed or red but her tail feathers are looking a bit curly??
her she was as a day old:

And here she is today:

Here are the 3 EE pullets that we're keeping! Only 4 ended up pullets out of the 14 - such a shame the boys are just gorgeous!

#1 - Anne Shirley

#2 - Little One - Getting the biggest beard! What colour would she be considered?

Nellie Olsen - THE funniest chicken ever. It comes up and chatters non stop!

I haven't the slightest idea but I bet she will be a beautiful adult.

That ratio is disheartening. Hopefully the beautiful boys go to good homes, perhaps with someone who breeds.
