The EE braggers thread!!!

Quote:
I have silkies that can wake the dead. One of my ameraucana boys prefers to do his crowing inside so it doesn't travel far. The other one finds the highest spot he can and yells at the top of his lungs. I had a brahma rooster before that would only crow a couple times a day. Mostly just a few in the morning and he wasn't to loud.

Hello everyone!! I am about to buy an EE rooster and my Dad is worried that he is going to be loud. I have never been around a EE rooster so I don't know how they sound. If someone can help that would be great 'cause I am going to go get him tomorrow.
Thanks

I think it's an individual thing. Besides that, how many other boys are around? I have 9 grown ones, there are two down the street that I can just hear at my place, they start then all my boys have to chime in, each one louder than the one before. On top of that they have gotten the little boys crowing earlier and earlier!

ChickeNmamma, about a month ago, you made guesses as to the sex of my 6 chicks, and each and every one was correct, even though my photos were much less than good quality. Boys have started to crow and they sound so cute... Thank you for your help!
Wow, all right? You are welcome!

All the EEs I have ever had that were black and white as chicks had white around their head and breast and black and white on their wings and back - and every single one was a boy. Perhaps I should say I have had EEs for..um.. lots of years. I think we got our first chickens in the mid 80s. I chose for "my" chickens the ones that laid the green eggs.

There are no other chickens around us. I don't really care if he crows, I actually like how they sound it's just my Dad and Brother who would complain.

Solid white? yes, solid black? yes, splash? sure.... No "black and white" chicks growing up to be girls, not for me.

Your black and white bird looks like a Silver Laced Wyandotte.. is she an EE? I haven't seen any EEs in that color.. yet.
Pookey is a Silver laced cochin mixed with splash maran. Turned out to look more cochin than maran. Tiny single comb, yellowish legs, heavy feathered shanks and no beard. She is a mutt but the kids love her. I had a few people ask to buy her. One guy would stop in once a week for eggs and ask if I'd sell her. I'm glad she turned 2 now he stopped asking lol.

Wow ~ she is 3 years old now & if I recall she was a "chipmunk" looking chick. I got her as a hatching egg ~ brown & green egg barnyard mix. I don't know what color of egg she may have come from but she lays a nice large light brown egg.
