I have a quick question for those who have laying EE's-- when did your girls start laying?? I have two EEs and they are five months today. Soo.... just wondering the typical time of when EE's start to lay.

I think any day...if they run loose they may find a special spot and make a hole to put them in and cover as they lay. I've found 12 one time and 5 another from my EE's

Ok thanks everyone!! I am hoping they will lay soon!! And different colors too.... I do let them free range some, but not all day. I have a bunch of trees-- do you think they could be laying in there?

I love my sweet EE but was so disappointed after waiting  5 months to see what her egg color would be, blue, green or even pink....I ended up with a beige just like my speckled sussex egg. I so wanted a colored egg. she is the most friendliest of our flock though. oh well.-lisa

I just wanted to jump in here to share with everyone that my EE (5 of the 18 chicks in the brooder) are the biggest compared to all of their sisters and brothers! I was not expecting that! Their only competition is a SLW who looks more like a big baby with her tiny tiny wing feathers! Very excited to see what this group grows into!!

Beautiful colors! What type of comb is that? My EE pullet has one like that and she's 21 weeks. I thought her comb looked like a straight comb but its morphed into something similar to your chicken's.

Those are modified pea combs. A cross between a pea comb and a straight.
