The EE braggers thread!!!

I went to the feed store to get Welsumer pullet chicks to go with my roo. Of course I came home with a EE. They had one a color I don't have. LOL.

I'm doing good so far I have these 3, 5 Silkie and 3 ducks. Chicken math you know. I have 2 doz eggs waiting to go in the incubator this weekend.

I have a green and a olive egger out of the 4 pullets that hatched last year. Not sure about the other two.
that's Pearl up front.
I have an EE Pearl too! Lol.
Great minds...

Here's my Pearl (on the left) and her "brother" Pan.
They've been a pair since I got them. Lol.
This is them as chicks, she's still on the left, and he's on the right.

They're so funny. Very adventurous.

Finally a green egg!!! But it's only 1.45 oz! I know the first egg is usually small but that small?! How much bigger can I expect it to get if it's peewee sized now??

According to Wikipedia:

Size Mass per egg Cooking Yield (Volume)[2]
Jumbo Greater than 2.5 oz. or 71 g
Very Large or Extra-Large (XL) Greater than 2.25 oz. or 64 g 56 mL (4 tbsp)
Large (L) Greater than 2 oz. or 57 g 46 mL (3.25 tbsp)
Medium (M) Greater than 1.75 oz. or 50 g 43 mL (3 tbsp)
Small (S) Greater than 1.5 oz. or 43 g
Peewee Greater than 1.25 oz. or 35 g

Your egg is starting small, but they will probably get bigger. I've got one hen that usually lays large, with an occassional Extra-Large, but most of the hens are laying large eggs. My pullets all start around the medium/small range.

Congrats on the new egg.
