The EE braggers thread!!!

They're not for everyone, lol.
I have one, and I'll keep her, but I don't think I'd get any more, unless she turns out to be an exceptional broody...
She's still on the young side

I got 2 this spring. 1 "Emmy" was laying, the other "Whitey" not quite old enough. Emmy went broody 3 weeks after she got here. While she was raising babies, whitey started laying. Emmy finished with babies and started laying again! YAY! 2 eggs a day finally!!! For 1 week! Then whitey went broody, back to 1 egg a day, for ONE week!! Now they are BOTH broody!! Lol I can't hatch babies with no eggs!! :/

Wow! That IS a dilemma.
Mine is only 17 weeks, so I've got a bit before eggs or broodiness.
And she's my only silkie, the rest are my big girls :)

It's not that I don't particularly like them. They just seem so fragile. I had 6 chicks and though I think they may of had a bug, they just weren't tricking and seemed very susceptible more things. Maybe I will hangs my mind one day

You too? I just had number ten (an EE) go broody on Monday. She's getting wheaten ameraucana eggs tonight. That's the fourth EE that has gone broody on me this year. Five broodies were silkies (one twice) and one was a wheaten ameraucana. Four were EEs. I've never had so many large fowl go broody in one year. Two of the EEs and the wheaten hen have the same wheaten father. The other two EEs are also half ameraucana from other crosses.

Man, here you guys are on number 10 and I haven't even got one this year lol. And I have many Cochins, so that really surprised me

Sigh. Make that number 11 for me. Apparently the chicks hatching yesterday were to much for the splash silkie. She's back to broodie.
