The EE braggers thread!!!

Apparently, feather sexing only works if birds are bred for it and it also depends on what breeds they are. Seems like EEs are hard to feather sex because people who buy them from farm stores usually end up with a rooster even though they're supposed to have been sexed.

That said if it was to be feathered sex from those photos I would say it is a rooster.
Thanks!

If a bird is not bred to be feather sexed, it is just a guess. I did attempt to do it with my hatch this year, even though I knew that. One thing I did find (and this is my first time doing it, so maybe just how it happened for me) is the one that was obviously a roo stayed a roo, and two that were obviously pullets stayed that way. The other four in my hatch were a little more ambiguous, and ended up being two pullets and two roos. The roos that I couldn't tell at first feathered exactly like my pullets did, but the obvious roo feathered much slower and looked very classically like a roo. Good luck!

Love my six EE pullets!

I have one like the top picture. White with blue and red. I bought it as a pulet, but keep waiting on hackle and saddle fesrthers to come in with all that red on its shoulders.
