The EE braggers thread!!!

I lost may favorite EE girl (Pearl) this weekend :(

The feed store is getting a batch of "Americanas" (

) in on Thursday...
Would it be too late in the year to add a few more?
I'm down to one EE now and, other than the fact that I feel like I need more babies to love, My egg basket is decidedly uneven as far as colors go.

I think it would be safe yet to get some. As long as they have most of their feathers grown in they should be fine by winter. On the cold days, I would keep a heat lamp in with them. Sorry for the loss of Pearl. Hope you get some cuties on Thursday!

I just got my 1st D'uccles Saturday, & I'm in love! So I decided to find some eggs to give my broody, BUT!! My broody's raise the babies with the flock. So would it be safe to give an EE D'uccle eggs to raise with a flock of EE's? The D'uccles are soooo small. :/ Idk if she has every been broody before. I've inly had her a few months.

My two EE's from this year's hatch are just over 16 weeks, and we have a sudden reddening of combs. Hoping for pretty eggs soon! My first EE didn't lay til over 20 weeks, but I'm feeling encouraged by the combs, so hopefully it will be a little sooner.

here they are having a drink with their BLRW sister, she's the blurry one.
