The EE braggers thread!!!

I usually sell straight run when they r a lot younger. Just the time of year I guess. People stopped buying so many. So they got big. I have 4 little cockerels that I KNOW of, & a few more younger ones I'm still undecided on. Lol I won't use any of them, cause my roo is soooo pretty. I'll either sell them or eat them when they grow up. Sounds horrible, but that was the plan if we had extra, I'm just "chickening" out of the plan. LMBO.
I'm the same way. I said at the beginning of the season do not name any of these chicks because if they are roos we are eating them. well I just gave away the last 4 EE I had growing out. I know that 2 are most likely roos one for sure. Actually I traded them for highlights. LOL the lady who does my daughters hair took them and will do her hair for free next time. I kept one because he is really pretty and so far well behaved. Now I have to deal with the bantam. I told my Husband he may get to serve hot chickens at the tailgate parties instead of hot wings. We've never processed a chicken. quail are so easy it just looks like the chickens would be more difficult.

We also have baby dwarf rabbits. I sure hope I can get rid of all of them. If I cant get rid of all these miniature animals I guess we will have a winter with lots of dumplings.

Haha! My sister lives in Alaska and now has chosen to move to Portland for the winter months. She's been through 2 winters there and vowed never again.

These are my two EE ladies! The dark one is the oddest bird there is. She almost reminds me of a dog and the other lighter one is highly skittish. She wont even get in a five foot radius of me when handing out treats. It took me almost 30 min of sitting to coax a picture of her. They are both 23 weeks old and no closer to laying than a one week old chick it feels like.

Haha! Basically! Right before this, she was pecking the lower part of my shirt and I shooed her away and that is what she gave me.

Just a random question, but what color chicks could these two hens throw if I breed both of them with this roo?

Just lurking through older posts and seen that you have twins to my two EE's!

Mine are from Cackle (actually the feed store but that's what they told me). Have yours begun to lay? Are yours from Cackle as well?

How funny! Well you have some beautiful girls, I'd say. ;D I had one more EE but a freak accident happened and she died. I have mainly have chickens for egg production but I would totally have a flock of EE's just for their coloring and uniqueness.

Yes. Certain EE's are good producers and others not so much. All depends on what the parents were.
