Well the Easter Egger lives very well in the heat of Death Valley California but I also have the Road Island Read, Russian Orloff is a fancy and well adaptable breed well known for thriving in the artic region of Siberia as well as the mountains of Afghanistan but a bit pricy there are several other breeds but I am sure other owners will be excited to wright about them .

She looks like a Princess.
I have 4 pretty Ladies too, waiting for 3 of them to lay eggs, I also treat them with some veggies and protein plus the scratch and pellets.
I'm in Stephenville :)

If an Easter egger chick is born with muffs will she keep them? Or can they go away? Thanks
If a chick is muffed at hatch, it will be muffed as an adult. There is a time, however, when a chick is feathering in and will temporarily lose the muffed look for a week or two while the down falls out and the feathers are growing in.
Some chicks can hatch with very fluffy down, giving the appearance of muffs. After about a week, it becomes clear that the chick is not muffed.
