just popped in to say hey Katy:)

HI sweetie!!!! How goes the silkies? Did you see the EE babies from my eggs? It was so much fun shipping them and knowing that my babies are across the US now!

I've been watching my EE chick to see what it will look like as an adult.
At 6 days old it looked like:

At 16 days it looked like:

I'm guessing as of now that my chick will have leopard print feathering:) (23 days in this pic)

I hope it continues. A Leopard print chicken would be kind of cool.

It's been blue but I'm doubting it will be when it's fully feathered. It was supposed to be a BLRW but it obviously isn't. I've never had an EE and didn't really want one. It's been so cute I decided to keep it but I'm anxious to see what it will feather out to before I really attach myself.

you don't sound like a real EE lover to me . . . . (just teasing) she will convert you!!! Those puffy muffs are addicting!

We just got our very first chickens yesterday, a couple of EE chicks! My little daughter picked out the yellowish one and named her Daisy, I picked the little chipmunk/leopard one and named her Marzipan

They're supposed to be female, so fingers crossed that they are!! Marzipan is a bit bigger, way louder, and her little teeny comb is longer than Daisy's, but she sits more quietly when being held and Daisy pecks more (likes to try and get polkadots on clothes, and sometimes Marzipan's toes!) I am just dying to see what they will look like when all of their feathers are in! Any guesses? Daisy is a dull yellow, but on her back and chest and top of her head has some brownish/greyish. Her little wing feathers are coming in white, but today I noticed that they've got a very faint rust speckling to them. And Marzipan's little wing feathers are reddish brown with black markings. I'm guessing she'll be that sort of partridge colour like a lot of EE chickens. And then I'm also just dying to see what colour eggs they will lay!!
