He's quite something to look at, isn't he? Roy did well. How is she doing these days?
Half way between there and here is still an awfully long trip with my 19 month old daughter and my three year old son, but Salmon Idaho is a doable trip for us........... I think that is still awfully far for you though......

You have risen to the top of my "crazy poultry people I admire" list.

Katy, I got several chicks from you and February and I got a black rooster in the bunch that looks like Lance. I really don't need him if you are interested and don't want to drive to Salmon to get Lance.

Does anybody have a "Silver" EE Roo? I think I may have one, but would like to have a picture first!
Has anybody else noticed that EE's are dominant? Almost all of the chicks I hatched from my flock this year have either a Pea comb, or Blue/Green Feet, or are full EE! And only two out of 4 were hens. But two died ..

Hi, all! I bought 7 EE at TSC in April. They are approximately 12 weeks old now. Based on their combs, I think I have 4 boys and 3 girls. When did most of your hens start laying? I have two Ameraucana hens and a Marans hen that are now 23 weeks and I'm still waiting for an egg!!! Also, does the color of the EE legs have any correlation to their egg color? Just wondering what to expect!

I've enjoyed looking at the pictures of everyone's birds!!

Here are pics of our newest EE's. They are four weeks old. They are a cross between Ideal Poultry's Ameraucana x Ideals Partridge Chantecler. All are from blue eggs so we hope they will lay greenish eggs. They look very similar to the Partridge Chantecler chicks. We included a pic of some Partridge Chantecler we raised. Also included is a pic of the rooster comb. Two of the chicks seem to have pea combs and the other (think it's a rooster) has no comb right now. We are interested in how long it will take them to lay since Chanteclers lay at around 7-8 months.
