Thanks! I love my BR/Ameraucana crosses and now, I see that the Delaware/EE or Del/Ameraucanas can be beautiful, too.

Katie pigtails, I bought mine from a lady in Washougal. I wonder if our birds are from the same hatchery from around here? I just wish I knew how to describe that color pattern, especially the bird in your top photo.

well, I figured out which youngster is laying me the new pretty blue eggs.
She is 21 weeks old, she was the last one to hatch, 3 days later then the others. Was runty, was stepped on and flattened by her mom.
I kept her because of those reasons.

Her mom is a buff orp/white leghorn x and her dad is a EE.
this is her, Dove.
I am so happy that the blue egg laying gene is so strong. She does have the slate legs, I was thinking with her having leghorn, that she'd be a white egg layer, or pinkish. I am pleasantly surprised she is laying blue eggs. Yay.
