As much as I adore my little boy, I will not tolerate being attacked by any animal I feed and take care of, that is a one way ticket here. With other pets (dogs) has been one way to a hot shot w/ me crying my eyes out the entire time. If he goes that way it will be a one way ticket to freezer camp. But I choose to have faith in my little roo, and he has yet to give me the slightest hint of anything any differant.

I hatched a Blue Andalusian X Easter Egger Chick about an hour ago. I have so many roosters in the pen w/ my younger birds their is no tell'in what the baby is mixed w/. But She is Blue w/ Orange Muffs and my EE roo is Orange/Yellow so?

Being new to the EE type of chicken... do they always lay a greenish egg or can they lay brown eggs? I have six chicken, two Barred Rocks, two Red Sex link.. and two EEs... yesterday I got 5 eggs, all various shades of brown... I was hoping for greenish/bluish eggs... but now I am wondering if they also lay brown eggs???

Yes, some EE's can lay a brown egg, despite the fact that EE means a bird carrying at least one blue egg gene. I myself have a hatchery based EE who used to lay light brown eggs. The comb is what will tell you though. Single - brown. Pea - blue/green. My EE has the weirdest single comb though, quite obviously her siblings and parents had pea combs, because hers is just weird. Flops in 2 directions, has two side springs, etc.

Mine haven't started yet but I'm hoping for colored eggs, all my girls have pea combs so we'll see.

Yes, they have Pea Combs.

Pea Combs and beautiful birds which happen to be Easter Eggers or chickens which have both the blue and brown egg color genes and will lay a variety of egg colors.

I just ordered 10 EE chicks from Ideal and plan on incubating as many of my own EE sage colored eggs as I can collect for a week. So far she lays daily.
