do you have your own bantam ees or did you get eggs?

Well turns out the chick is a Olive Egger X Silver Sebright and perhaps some Silkie blood as well!

I have 1 Dark Blue EE bantam hen...I've hatched eggs from her but they're all standard EE roosters so I kind of quit hatching her eggs out! lol

I want to get some EE bantams at some point...but right now I'm kind of full.

I read somewhere that , in a percentage of those pure for tufts , the nodule that the tufts grow on develope inward into the brain of the developing chick , killing the chick in the later stages of developement while still in the egg . I don;t know if this is true or not .

Hi guys.

I was wondering if any of you has EE x Silkie birds.
I'm about to put eggs of this kind of cross into a bator, and wanted to see what I might get.

I wouldn't expect any silkie feathered chicks, it's a recessive trait, so it takes a couple generations to have the silkie feathering to be expressed in a bird.

ETA: They will most likely look like a typical EE with a small feather crest, feathered feet and darker skin.

I am the proud owner of a small flock of EE an dassorted mixed hens. It has been a long time since we have had anythig but pure breeds. I thought it would be fun to have a group just for fun and eggs to eat instead of only eggs to hatch!!!
I have a few extra bantam cochin roosters in with the girls too...they love their amazon women!
Here is a photo of some of them.

I'll try to get a picture of Julia in a second..

Love my EE, too. Was a little disappointed that she didn't lay blue/green eggs, but she is such a sweetie those tufts just give them such a sweet expression.
