That looks like a single comb, so I'd say wait at LEAST another week. . . . And don't expect too good of green or blue-green eggs. I'd say expect either brown or very golden-brownish green eggs.
She's gorgeous though! The buff passed on very well. Was her EE parent very brown in color?
Thank you, I did not see the parents. He raises Buff Orpingtons, Barred Rocks, RIR, and true Ameraucanas. He crosses sometimes to get EE. They free range, but he has breeder pens etc. He had a great set up and the coops were huge barns and clean and separated. I was so jealous! I should call and ask what the mother was. I am assuming the roo was the Buff since she is buff? Right? Or does that only work with barred sex links"?
We did not plan on getting her. We planned on two BR to replace my sweet Penny. She was so pretty and we wanted some different colors in our flock so she came along too lol.
We have a red or golden sex link chick that is a little darker than her but those are the only buff colored birds we have, so we thought it would look good. She had better muffs and beards but my blue EE thought she was too pretty and competition and took care of few of her feathers! I guess she was the head chicken in her little flock (the BR chicks obey her) and so Pamela had to keep her in check lol.
