I didn't bother to weigh him; I've been changing breeding pen combinations and have them already stirred up enough to slow production this week. An earlier chick from the same cross weighed 5 lbs, 6 oz at this age; this one is bigger, but I have some smaller than him. They're white Ameraucana roo over CX pullets.

Good eye! At a younger age they resemble CX even more; but lose the super, broad breasted, look by this age........................ still feel pretty meaty though. My oldest was hatched 11/21/10; I don't know yet how much the body will widen by breeding age.
