The EE braggers thread!!!

She is a beauty! I love her coloring! I have a few chicks that are a very light blue with gold on them--I really hope that a) they are girls lol and b) they feather out like your bird. I don't think I am asking too much, right?

Over the weekend I visited a friend who bought birds from me last year. I was over the moon when I saw how gorgeous her roo was.

This isn't the clearest pic but this is him now, at just 1 year old

And he looked EXACTLY like this when he left my house at 6 weeks old:

Who would have guessed he'd have matured into such a regal looking bird with perfectly placed markings? I had no idea.

This is one of the reasons why I love EE's. It's like a little surprise inside each egg

(ETA: the adult and chick are different birds but looked identical at the same age of 6 wks old)

Love 'em both, especially the adult, but those aren't the same two. The one on the top is clean-faced and a full-on duckwing, plus it appears to be rumpless (?) The young one has beard/muffs, has a definite tail, and either has dominant white or columbian influencing its duckwing based patterning.

No, they arent the same bird. I think I have a pic of him in an external hard drive but he looked almost identical to this little guy I have now.

He had a tail--no one is really sure what happened to it lol. His saddle feathers seem to cover the stump nicely tho.

The beard, muffs were very thin but he had those too. I was very surprised with how he turned out--I had a much different visual in my head.

Ah, I see.

Here's some of the latest photos of two of my more "normal" looking Easter Eggers. These girls are sisters, and believe it or not, there only difference between the two is silver and gold. Shows a nice comparison especially to chicken newbies, the difference of "gold" and "silver."

The green egg is from the silver girl.

Ok, let me guess: e+/eWh, Co/co+, pattern gene-probably not? non Hackle Black, and of course one S and one s+.

That would be a fun game for us genetics type people to do. . .

You're close. They're actually Co/Co, plus with some Ml/ml+ The rest is right.

Welp has great EEs. Mine are three and a half years old and most still lay 5 eggs a week.

Cool, good to hear!

My last flock of chickens had a few EE's-can't remember if they were my Welp or Ideal chicks though. They were laying good, until a coyote attack.

Definitely taking more precautions from now on.
