The EE braggers thread!!!

Velvet Hairpiece, If the chick you are referring to is the nicely colored black & white one I would agree that you might have to change it's name as it does have that roo look . If so, as it gets a little older it will be very obvious by it's mannerism's. Whatever sex it is it has a very nice color pattern, should be interesting to see what it looks like when grown-up. At first I thought she had a pink bow on. Cool pic.

Funny she needs a bow. She is like one of those babies you see in the store and you think hmmmm....boy or girl? She is HUGE, bigger than my roos even and I feel bad for her because it seems like none of the roos like her in that "special way". She even bows down in front of them waiting to breed and they walk away. So Sad. Last year she decided to try to mount the other pullets, that really confused me because she lays a beautiful blue egg.

I'm interested in the sex of chicks based on feather color. I know it's largely difficult to tell, especially since mine are so young, but I guess you could say I'm obsessing over it simply because I've already got one BR pullet who is definitely a roo, and I don't know I can have another! My chicks are all around 3.5 to 4 weeks at this point.

I posted pictures the other day, but I think these are a little better of my "girls".

A pretty good view of Lady's back and face. She's so much bigger than the others!

I think Lady is a Gentleman!

My EE roo was the same way at that age. All of a sudden he had these big feet and was bigger than the girls. Then he started getting a comb. They are 10 weeks now and the girls still don't have much of a comb to speak of. My roo is close to the same coloring as yours also. At 10 weeks now, he has these beautiful feathers. He is super sweet and quiet. He doesn't like to be caught but he loves to be held. haha I was bummed when I found out he was a roo because I have to get rid of him because they aren't allowed in our city.

haha, it's alright. I got it. I was reading it, and was thinking "Gosh, this person sounds a lot like how I write..." and then realized that you were quoting me.

But I wish you people would stop telling me Lady is a man!

I think the name will stay even if s/he does start crowing!

LOL! I know how you feel! We had named ours Amelia and now have changed it to Emilio.

Watch that comb growth. Maybe there is hope that you just have a Lady with big bones.

Hello Fellow Egger People!

This is a picture of Lenny. He's the sweetest roo you've ever met ... very protective, great food finder, and even lets us pick him up and pet him. He's almost 2 years old. Just wondering what to call my egger guy. Is this partridge coloring? Thanks.
