The EE braggers thread!!!

Thanks! He surprised me - was pretty plain for a while, and now is getting more and more spectacular by the day. By the way, all were hatched 6/26/11- they're about 4 1/2 months old now.

Here is Antonio (on the left) at 6-7 weeks, with one of the pullets.

"Easter Egger." I've learned this, if nothing else, on BYC! Easter Eggers are mixed breed birds that usually lay colored eggs and often have muffs and beards. They are often sold as Ameraucanas or even Araucanas by hatcheries and on down the line.

Sorry, I went back and looked those are roosters, I didn't see the saddle feathers until I looked again. They're still beautiful though.

Daddy was a clean-faced white sport from halo's wheaten Ameraucanas. His sister lays a beautiful blue, blue egg. The mom's were all either Easter Eggers or "olive eggers;" the olive eggers mothers (one blue, one black) also originated from halo's flock. Their breeding was a blue Plymouth rock rooster over Easter Egger hens.

Question...I purchased "Ameraucanas" from my local urban farm store and while speaking with them today about a possible sick chick I called it an EE. He quickly corrected me as to call in a Ameraucana. They get them from Privett hatchery. So, what are they?
