the comb is right
the coloring is good (wheaten? which I just love)
the posture and the arch of his neck are right for an EE

One of my EE's has gone broody and boy is she mean: she growls at any chicken that comes near her and she was pecking at me when I tried to see how many eggs she had! Now I just need to mark those eggs and let her cook'em! LOL!!

I found some older pictures of one of my EEs and thought I'd share...

This is her mama:

No beard, muff-free, pea comb and a beautiful green egg layer. I lost her to a hawk.

This is her as chick (she's on the left):

I'm pretty sure daddy was a Speckled Sussex.

This is her all grown up:

No beard, muff-free, pea comb and doesn't even really look like a typical EE, but she lays very pretty green eggs.

I got my first EE eggs today and yesterday 1 green and one blue!!Totally not expecting blue from hatchery EEs. I'm surprised at how big they are my other hens first eggs have been small!
