The EE braggers thread!!!

WOW!!! That is one cute chick
love.gif

What chick are you referring to?

The little one in the first pic, what will she turn out to look like? I ask because I have a couple that look like this, one a little roo and the other a pullet. The little roo is a bit whiter along the back and chest than the pullet. If you have pics of older birds with this coloring I would love to see them. Thanks

Here are some of mine, If you have any Qs about them feel free to ask

My babies hatched on saturday, they were part of the Easter Hatch-along! :) I had 3 EE over EE Chicks but only one of them is dark with the biggest cheeks muffs! :) I will update the pics of the others as soon as I figure out which ones are the EE over EE and the EE over Speckled sussex chicks! They look a lot alike except some are brownish chipmunks, eyeliner & pink feet and some are whitish chipmunks with Purplish feet. I watched the 3 hatch out of My EE gals green eggs but i didn't sit by the bator to watch them dry. They all have the same daddy so even the speck crosses are EE's. I will get pictures of all and post all babies from this hatch as they all have an EE Daddy if everybody doesn't mind?
But for now here is the chocolate colored EE Chick!

And my first boy out of my EE over barred Rock chicks, 1 boy out of 9 sex-link chicks.

Not a bad ratio considering the rooster to hen ratio. Are you planning to harvest the extra males ? harvest = processing = good but not easy food

LOL! No actually I was hoping to get one so I can breed this one! when i hatch more I am not sure what I am going to do with them probably sell them until we move and I have the means to harvest extra males unless someone is interested in buying for breeding.

I got 14 EE babies from TSC this spring. First time I've had EE's and I'm in love!! I think I ended up with mostly Roos though by picking the coolest looking chicks, which is ok because I have plenty of hens and plenty of room.

Here are some of the kids:

At 2 days old-
Sunny, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore (original right?

)

Chip, Hawke, Sparrow, and Vendetta (who I think might not be an EE)

At 5 weeks-
Alvin and Simon (I believe they are both Roos, but check out the difference in feather growth)

Theo (my fav, he's SOOO friendly)

Hawke (single comb, possibly pullet)

Chip (hoping pullet, but doubting)

Sunshine (thinking cockeral for this one also)

Sparrow (pretty sure this is a pullet)

sorry bout the pic overload and please, please, please correct me if wrong on sex, they will have a forever home with me no matter what

What makes you think that Vendetta is not an EE ? I am not yet a qualified "sex guesser" so I do not comment on sexes. I do feel that I need to learn though. My favorite of those chicks is Sparrow. Somehow she reminds me of a Buttercup due to her pattern.

Vendetta could very well be an EE, just a very very poor cross of one. It kinda goes back to the whole all-hatchery-type-ees-seem-similar argument. Out of the batch of the other EEs I got, he has no beard/muffs, straight comb, yellow legs, and is bantam in size now although he was the same size as the others at 2 days old. Weird huh? Here is a pic of him at 5 weeks:

Panth,

I have a little roo and a pullet that look like your Alvin and Theo. I also have a few chicks that look similar to your Hawke. All of mine are about 5 weeks old. I had a friend teach me how to tell the gender, which was very helpful. Their legs are greenish though. I have 9 little ones and luckily ended up with only one roo. Having fun with them.
