The EE braggers thread!!!

I just got my first day old EE today, and she is a tiny little beauty! Freckled face and gorgeous layered brown feathers. Can't WAIT to see what her eggs look like in a few months :)

OMG that is just adorable they are so cute when they are on that stage look at mine a couple of monts ago and now

I just wanted to give a warm welcome to those of you coming over from the Ameraucana thread...

Please know that most of us started out in your shoes, thinking we had the real deal and finding out the truth later on. It's no matter - EEs and OEs are some of the best birds around! Mine are excellent layers, and seem to be much more hardy than my true Ams.
Yes agreed. shoot even one of my Black Ameraucana Roosters did not make the cut. So I will start posting about him here. He has too much white in the hackle and saddle feathers plus some on his head..

This is from last year ^^^^ (fern)

^^^ Cali [Calico :p] EE hatched from a blue egg. Born July 22nd 2012. I'll go get some recent pics of her!

So I'm thinking about ordering a small order of chicks from either Meyer or MPC. Any ideas on what to get? I have purebred AM's that I would love to make EE's with for next year. They aren't laying yet, but they came from a kinda dull blue egg, and I'd love to get some girls with a more impressive colored egg, and also that are eye catchers. Is there any breeds that would be good for crossing my AM's to? They are all from the B/B/S variety. I have at this point 1 black and 3 blues(not sure on genders yet). I guess I could just get EE's from the hatchery. Does anyone have examples of EE's that they got from Meyer or MPC hatcheries?
