The EE braggers thread!!!

So far I have 4 Solid Black Sexlink EE gals, I had 2 more but like I Said they had funky/Off combs. I am wanting the beautiful pea combs and colored eggs. Their brother has an awesome comb, I am going to use him to start making barred EE's when we finally get settled in the new house. as for the second pic i wouldn't say quality is good.

JeffOeuf ~ she is stunning! what color egg does she lay?

To all of Paula's fans...thank you, I think she blushed when she heard how many of you thought she was gorgeous.

Here's her first egg. They're blue, with a tinge of green. My wife's cousin saw this picture and said that it was the color she wanted to paint her kitchen.

And, here she is May 20, at about 8 weeks.

I know nothing about her lineage. I bought her at a feed store as a day old chick. She was advertised as an Auracana, but it didn't take me much research to figure out that was wrong. Doesn't matter, she knows she's gorgeous, I know she's gorgeous, and now all you know, too.

I agree Paula is a beautiful hen, I bet she has Silver penciled Wyandoote in her she looks alot like my Wyandotte cross Lacy except for the penciling, my Lacy has lacing and also lays a blue green egg.... not the best picture but this is her.......

Her colour is called silver pencilled. :) She is stunning! I would have thought she was a silver pencilled rock if she didn't have a pea comb!

The sexlinked barred roo will only give you half barred chicks. He only has 1 copy of the barring gene. So only 1/2 will be barred. They will not be sexlinked either. you will get about 25% barred pullets, 25%, barred males, 25% solid pullets and 25% solid roos.

:thumbsup

Or if you happen to be as unlucky as me: out of 10 (using 1/2 barred rooster against non-barred hens)
6 barred offspring (all boys) - 3 had double barring gene (1 mother was 1/2 barred as well)
2 black offspring (girls)
1 red offspring (girl)
1 Red Pyle looking offspring (boy).

pretty egg, beautiful girl

I have an 18 week old rooster that looks almost exactly like your roo. He currently has no beard. When did yours grow his beard?

Well, I got him at about 20 weeks. He already had the beard a little bit by then and I think it has grown out some more since then. So, maybe in the next couple of weeks your roo will get busy on the beard!

This is Cali, I hatched him from a blue egg, July 22nd.

Cleo, my pure white EE. She is 5 months old.

This is Fern, got her last spring. She lays blue eggs :).

My first chicken ever was an EE, her name was Bell'e. Got her in '09. She died early this year :(
