Oh my gosh! It's a twin to my little EE!!

It does look like mine! What does it look like now? Or is this a current photo?

I don't really know if they will be or not, but I'm hoping. The mama's are EE's and the dad is a blue Marans. I won't know for sure what color they will lay until spring, but with that mix I have a pretty good chance for olive.

And they all hatched within 24 hours.

The chick that hatched last night. Light Brahma rooster X EE hen (blue egg).

Hey, i got one too! But my hen was a blue and rust colored one, so the feathers are coming in cream and very pale blue . Daddy was a silver pattern of some sort, hatchery EE.







My favorite girl, hatched from my favorite hen who unfortunately died this summer. This girl is a cuddler, and had she come in with blue instead of black would have been her mom's twin, in personality and looks.

I just had to share. My broody hatched out 6 Olive Eggers yesterday! I can't wait till spring to see what color they'll lay.

She has yellow legs and a straight comb but lays a greenish/blue egg. She hatched out of a blue egg.

this girl looks a lot like my poults that are half Ameraucana and half Welsummer, except they don't have feathered legs; what's her parentage?

So a lot of people have been talking about making chickens larger that are EEs, why not just breed with a jersey giant and then go back and forth with an EE?

OK maybe some of you can help me out a bit. I have 4 poults, Welsummer mamma, Ameraucana roo. Hatched last week of May, so about 4 months old. They are showing 2 different comb types, which at first I thought maybe 2 boys, 2 girls, but now I"m thinking just the difference between the comb types of the parents. The first three pics are of the same bird with a sort of double comb.






Then there are 2 birds with what looks like a single comb.


Do you think these indicate a gender difference or just how they inherited the comb types of the parents? Any other clues as to sex ID at this age or do I just need to be patient? So hoping at least a couple are girls and lay olive eggs!

I think I have an EE that looks like a GLW sort of. Interesting, she will stick around... she might be an Olive Egger, but I doubt it she does not have feathered legs.
