The EE braggers thread!!!

These came to me as Blue Wheaten Americauna chicks, but the chick colour was consistent of a Silver Ameraucana chick. But now the feathers coming in are looking like an EE! (but I'm a newbie!)

So what do you think, do I have a flock of EEs on my hand?

I think you have EE's. I'm not really an expert on "Ameraucana's" but the leg coloring looks wrong. Then again I've seen the leg coloring change with age. Also, I don't see anything wheaten looking on that chick.

Have fun with them though.

Nope I think that's an EE, from the pictures I have seen and the babies I hatched this year 1 was exactly that color, and turned out to be a roo............... They are also suppose to have slate leggs and to my understanding they are that color from hatch........... Be proud EE's are prettier anyway.........Kim

6-8 Months WHAT I was told 4-6, but by October for sure. hmm I guess i am waiting then
It really depends on the individual chicken and time of year (amount of light) I have EE from Meyers they hatched on Sept 21 and the first started laying mid Jan, most by mid Feb and a few waited until March.

Yes 100% sure that's a cute EE. Like others have said the legs can only be black or slate to be ameraucana and the feather color isn't a recognized color. : )

Maybe I won't give up on my hatchery EE's just yet. They were hatched mid-Feb and I only have one laying a decent egg. I get a few small rough eggs from the rest. I was about to round them up for sale, but after reading everyone's experience with the late starting, I'll wait bit longer.

My first EE, who laid at 22 1/2 weeks, lays an egg almost every day! It is pink though and not blue/green, but she is soooo reliable! She started laying Aug 11th and had 20 eggs for Aug. 26 in Sept and so far 9 this month.

Wow that's impressive Flowerbh! I have one that started laying around the 1st of September and laid one nearly every day, but for some reason she abruptly stopped and I haven't had one from her in nearly 3 weeks...I hope everything's okay, one of my cochin bantys did the same thing and died from being egg bound a few days ago...
