The EE braggers thread!!!

The close up pic is a different rooster from the rooster in the first two pics.
Ohhh yeahhh I looked more closely and see the color difference. Both nice birds and I am jealous of the barred OE. There are some in the So Cal area but I have not been able to obtain any yet. But that is due to limited space. Barred OE flock could be kept in their own area to breed true. And if that is the case they can be sexed at birth as all barred birds. But this is a project that needs more than I have.

Quote: I am making Barred EE as we speak..... I am going to use the Barred pullets to make Sexlinked EE in the spring. Using my GS BR to my SBEL pullet... should get some nice size eggs, production and Barred. I have used barred EE to make SL Olive Eggers too. I am making as many barred pullets as I can for spring hatches for the locals that can only have pullets. The city people want to make pets and get them as day olds, I am just trying to help. BTW the might lay a greener egg but when breed back to the AMs or EE they should lay a little bluer eggs.

Working on some Barred autosexing Olive Eggers too..... stay tuned.........

Hello everyone! haven't had time to get on here in a while but trying to get back active........anyways, reason im posting is i want to do a new EE project i found a lacing pattern i like and was wondering if it's possible to steal it like people do with color projects? Today i seen someones partridge laced wyandottes, love pattern of partridge lacing wondering if possible to bred the pattern into an EE and how would i do it?

Well, you need something with the pattern, then a blue egg layer. I would use either a solid blue or a black birds BUT if you have one with a similar pattern like a BLRW or SLW that will speed you along. It will take several breedings back to the Partridge pattern to get it to show..... then you have the issue of the blue/green eggs. BTW the pattern is just Partridge, not Partridge laced. There are several breeds that are partridge, you would be better off to find something that would suit your needs than to breed it in EE. Pattern projects are LONG term.

mine are just little chickies.
Deann at Just struttin is already breeding the cross.
crele penedesenca hens with Cream Legbar Roosters.
the chicks hatch like the legbars . grow like a legbar with gold in them to. legs are yellow on what she is getting.
I am going to breed her cream legbar x crele penedesenca hen chicks back to my crele penedesenca boy

ye thanks now that i know there Pure Bred i think i got a good deal, and I've only had them 3 days or so but boy do they eat!!!

cluckcluckluke I think that your birds are just perfect for DOWN UNDER and I think that you got a good deal. They are big healthy hens which lay blueish eggs. It takes a lot of feed to get birds to grow to laying age. I would not sell a lying hen for less than 20 since feed is costly and the feed store promised that the prices will be increasing.
