I was doing fermented feed but stopped , about 2 weeks ago. Just too much .Are you thinking Botulism? I am in Florida and it is warm and dry. I did have a bird die. I thought she was just mismanaged...small bantam. New to us low on pecking order. I have a new,co-op and flock....3 1/2 months ago we started fresh and clean. So it must be that the bird had something. I just could not afford the necropsy. $300!

Hello ...looking for an experienced members advice. I could easily go astray as I am in a knee deep situation. I am not panicking...they are all asleep
But I would say it is needing prompt and proper attention. All my birds are slowly getting respiratory issues. I am going to get antibiotics first thing in the morning.

NEED HELP!!!!!!!

I separated out the 8 week old ones from the main co-op and built them a cute coop of their own far away from the older ones. But all the birds are having symptoms. No mortality yet but I am on it like a duck on a June bug. I just put down new bedding after a bird died...and today I put down lime. They were a little crowded before today but not overcrowded by any means. I think it needs antibiotics at this stage. I just barely got through the coccidiosis.

Not clear how to start a new thread. I haven't been on this website in a while because I forgot my password.I just had to give it time to work it out and set it again. I have chicks that are 8 weeks old now. Last week somehow I went through a coccidiosis nightmare and I learned a lot. I used cayenne and garlic ,chopped garlic that is, in their feed as well as Corid in the water. They cleared up beautifully but now somehow all 45 of my birds are developing some kind of respiratory issue with congestion and sneezing. Considering going to get Tylan50 at the feed store and 22 gauge needles. I just don't even know what the disease is. I have looked up everything from infectious bronchitis to fowl pox and my birds don't look anything like this. The eight week old chick that I noticed first was sneezing mucusy and just kind of rough feathers look and huddled. It is gaining energy and clearing up, but it's been kind of a nightmare the past couple of weeks. How do I know for sure my flock is not affected for life ? And if I don't know what I'm dealing with how do I treat it? I did have one bird died 3 weeks ago. I wanted to get a necropsy done but it was going to be $300!

Where do you live?

Help please. I don't know if this really bad or if my chicken is fine. She is 8 weeks old and she is a Sicilian Buttercup. She's acting normal and is eating and drinking but I just noticed that her poop is bloody. I'm kind of freaked out and don't know what to do or how to help her if something is wrong. Please give me advice!
