I would check her for lice, mites and worms. it would be dangerous to worm her now but you can put some garlic and cayenne pepper in her water or feed. that should help to expel some worms if there are any. do it for 2-3 days only. give her a dust bath for lice and mites.

Okay. I did see a lone louse crawling around on her face yesterday. She's too weak to take a dust bath on her own though, and she can't preen either. :/ I can put a little DE on her neck and back, would that work?

I thinks its more serious than just worms,tbh. I have never seen or heard of a chicken acting like this... Makes me think injury, but she isn't showing any external signs (besides not moving and lack of balance) of one.

@ChxLadyCass , is there something they could be getting into that they shouldn't be? My girls poop green when I give them spinach, and that pool looks just like it, only a different color.

No, you need to treat with permethrin dust.

I'll look around! They free range and I haven't been home the past few days so really it could be anything! No spinach, any other ideas what they shouldn't get into? Weeds that have been sprayed maybe?

Sprayed weeds could be it. If the weeds have been sprayed I would lock them up for about a week, just to be safe.

Mostly because money's a bit tight right now, and even if it wasn't... He spends money on food, occasionally scratch. Vetericyn is as far as he'll go for medicinal stuff.

What kind of treats do you give them?It doesn't scream coccidiosis to me.If it keeps happening i would ask your local avian vet to perform a fecal flotation.

you can rub some dust to your chicken if she cannot have a dust bath on her own. any sand/soil would do. if you have some wood ash you can mix it in. also dried herbs like wormwood, rosemary, lavander...

This morning I went to let my girls out, and my Mille Fluer Bantam didn't run out with the flock. She was still roosting and essentially limp. I picked her up, and her head was floppy. She was coo'ing. She is normally not one to be held. She gave no resistance and acted like she couldn't control her neck. I brought her inside immediately and put her in our hospital room. At first she wouldn't move minus her neck flopping. But she has tried to get up and move sometimes with success and sometimes just to fall over. I gave her water with electrolytes. It's been hot the last few days though she has had access to water. I gave her plenty of food (Scratch and Peck). And I recently put in a soupy egg in a dish for her. I watched her eat the S&P. I dipped her beak in the water and egg. She is still coo'ing and attempts to move. Sometimes she looks fine. Other information about her is that she is about a year old and laying. It appears that she laid at least yesterday if not today. My boyfriend normally collects the eggs so I am not really sure if this egg was from yesterday. I smelled her breath, it's not sour. Her crop isn't full. She was fine yesterday. I'm at a loss.
