(That's alright, sometimes there's stuff that just can't be avoided. We should be ready to go on with the attack itself soon, starting with stealing the German Tank-Destroyer. *slightly evil chuckle* )

(Yeah, I guess they probably would. Derp-up on my part there.

"Yeah, it does sound like fun," Connie chuckled, "especially the part about nabbing that Jagdtiger!" Connie's mind was going through a vast number of nasty things she planned on doing to the Nazi forces once she got a hold of that Tank-Destroyer.

Dirk took a look at the map of the airbase that Pierre had handed him, and cocked an eyebrow as he did so. "Is this accurate for the main German airbase just south of Metz?" he asked Pierre, "Because if it is, this is going to come in very useful when we reach the area."

(I think they should be just about ready to go and carry out the mission, so we can probaby start doing that once Fierlin1182 is around.

Rats, I never seem to be able to catch you guys online :p Well seeing as Kenny's going to go set something on fire on his own, do you think I should just write that and you can continue from there, then we won't have to keep waiting for everyone to be on together?

We could probably skip ahead to when they're approaching the German armor's position, and then go from there. For some reason I feel like at some point you've implied that Kenny is only going to be a part of the mission for this first short skirmish, so can you clear that up for me? Really, the whole team is going to be a part of the whole mission, there shouldn't be anyone who is there for only a part of it because they're a little short on manpower.

Okay, yes. I know they're all going to be involved for the whole thing, but seeing as that's one of the initial steps (blowing up the vehicle) it probably has to happen before anything else can. So it might be a good starting point. :p
If we can't catch each other online, should we do the attack separately in steps? Or just wait?

Should we start?

Kenny and Anton were hiding behind a bush in someone's front garden, incendiary devices in hand and the shiny new military vehicle parked down the road in mind.

(Sure, we can get started. I'll just add on to what you already put up, Fierlin.)

It was about 7:30 in the evening when the Freedom Fighters all got into position around the German armored vehicles and tanks currently stopped in main park in Nancy. It had been dark for several hours already, as is normal in winter this far from the equator, and the German troops and personnel were about to start settling down for the night. The Freedom Fighters had gotten lucky when they arrived in the area, as the positions of the German military vehicles were very beneficial to the chances of their success. The six SdKfz 7 open-topped half-tracks, as well as the Flakpanzer IV Ostwind, were parked at one end of the vaguely oblong formation, while the Jagdtiger and the two Panthers were sitting near the opposite end. Most of the vehicles were sitting near a one-lane street that ran in between the apartments and stores next to the park, and one edge of the large grassy field. The Freedom Fighters, numbering about sixty, were mostly hidden in between and near the buildings on the edge of the street, or in the undergrowth and shrubbery of the park's wooded areas near the Germans' position. Kenny and Anton were accompanied by five other Freedom Fighters, each armed with Molotovs, grenades, or throw-able timed IEDs. Before the whole group of Freedom Fighters had split up, Dirk, who was leading the mission, told the distraction group that once everyone was in position, they could act whenever and however they felt they should. As they sat hiding in the shadows, one of the other men turned to Kenny, who had been placed in charge of this small group of Freedom Fighters, and whispered "So what do you think we should do, boss? We could just go old-school and lob our charges and incendiaries at one or two of the half-tracks, but something like that happening without any obvious explanation would probably cause the Germans to suspect an E.F.F. attack and start looking for us. However, I saw an old delivery truck sitting in the alley just behind us. The street slopes downhill from here towards the half-tracks, and one of them is parked right next to the street about fifty yards from here. We could put the Molotovs on the front bumper and in the back of the truck, then get it rolling and have one person steer it towards the half-track closest to the road then jump out before they're seen. With any luck, the truck should slam into the side of the German vehicle, breaking and igniting the Molotovs on impact, and set both vehicles on fire. If we do it right, they shouldn't immediately suspect a deliberate attack, just some forgetful old driver who didn't set his brakes, which should buy the whole group of us a little extra time before they start searching." He peered through the hedges with his binoculars again as he waited patiently for a hushed response.

Dirk and Connie were among several of the Freedom Fighters assigned to steal the German Tank-Destroyer as quietly and quickly as possible once the diversion had started. They were sitting in a dense patch of shrubbery about twenty yards behind the Jagdtiger with about a half-dozen others. They planned to wait until as much attention as possible was drawn in the other direction away from the German TD, then quickly get inside the vehicle, hot-wire it, and drive it back into the darkness and into an alleyway about two hundred yards behind them. Then they would use the alleys and back streets to get out of town quickly and the whole group would rendezvous at the barn in the woods as soon as their respective jobs were done. The capture team was repeatedly passed very closely by Nazi soldiers on late patrol, but the brush was too thick for them to see into. There were also sharpshooters positioned on the tops of some of the surrounding buildings both as lookouts and to provide cover fire if the initial plans went haywire.

(Nice detail, I like it :p)

Anton, narrowed eyes peering out from behind a large swathe of vegetation, periodically scanned the road, the park and the surrounding buildings for any sign of untoward movement. The Germans were not hard to spot, probably because they had no particular reason to try to make themselves inconspicuous.

Kenny turned to his companion and spoke in as low a voice as he could manage. "That's a good idea. But you mention that we'd need a bit of luck for both vehicles to end up on fire. What if we have the truck crash into the German vehicle, but someone by the side of the road to send a bomb under the truck and blow up its fuel tank, coinciding it with the crash? That way we could be sure it would catch. Besides, if they were to check the back of the truck and find it empty - we don't know what's in it - fire coming from there right at the start would look suspicious. Much better to just confine the initial explosion to the fuel tank and the engine."

Anton poked Kenny in the arm. "Ruhe, jemand kommt."
Kenny shut up. He peered out with Anton towards the street, where a young and armed German soldier had just settled down on the low stone wall at the front of the garden they were in, taking a leisurely smoke. Rats, that meant a delay, and Kenny didn't want to risk any more talking either.
