The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

I changed my FB page profile pic to this handsome guy for awhile. My sweet Atlas will turn 5 at the beginning of April.

Remembering Rex #2, his sire. I wish he'd lived longer, hadn't tangled with Deacon and lost. He was such a good flock leader, just like his son is. Amazing how you can really see the family resemblance between them.

I stalk your son’s ex on FB occasionally lol, yeah that guy is just blech, plus the fact she’s over twice his age is just creepy.

Love seeing everyone’s beautiful chickens. Mine are still molting and not looking their best. And none are laying now. I had to buy eggs for the first time since last August. Freeloaders!

We had a good Thanksgiving here. We hosted and had 34 people. I’ve still got a fridge full of leftovers lol.

We have one dozen eggs in the fridge. The Tiny Terrorist began laying again yesterday, so with Alice, that's two of my 8 1/2 yr old hens in production, though they will only lay about every three or four days when they're in high gear (for them). And someone in Hector's pen has been laying on the floor so it either is poopy or breaks when somebody stomps it. In the Brahmas, only one hen is laying of the six and I think it was Brandy. She's really ramping up the broody clucking, sitting on the nest all day so she'll quit soon.

I agree that it's really creepy for a 52 yr old woman to be with a 20 year old boy. Younger is one thing-my son is 9 years younger than she is, but that's not 32 years younger, gross! And I think old men with very young women are also a little gross, but much later in life, it's not quite as skin-crawly as it is when one is barely out of the teens. The court date is Friday...countdown to freedom. If that goes off without a hitch, he can finally, truly move on.

Haha, nope, sorry, you don't qualify, as much as I'm sure you'd love the designation! LOL. My adoptive mother was three years older than my father, not an issue, but 32 years older is almost a crime considering that boy's age when they started up online.

Years ago, there was an episode of the Merv Griffin show, showing granny chasers. Young men that married women old enough to be their grandmothers. None of them on the show had been married less than 5 years. The younger men seemed to really love their older wives.

At first everyone thought that maybe the older wives had money, and that's what attracted the younger men. That was not true with the majority of them. Most of those couples both worked, and with several of them, the guys had, and made more money than their wives. There were a couple of the women that made more money, due to the length of time they had been working, but not a significant enough amount that it would be the point of attraction. There were no huge life insurance policies either.

Needless to say, after seeing the show, my grandmother was not ready to ditch my grandfather, and go find a kid to raise.

Maybe it will work out for them. Let's hope so. That way she won't be trying to get her hooks back into your son.

Actually, I still find it rather gross. Something has to be wrong with a very young guy who wants a grandmother for, well, carnal purposes. That's what I'd think if a 25 year old was trying to cozy up to me at my age. I'd think he was a serial killer or just psychologically impaired in some other way. Unless the grandmother looks like Christie Brinkley, um, no, can't see it. Ew.
