The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Yea! The post office called and I picked up my chicks. Funny thing, I gave the post office my number, but mc murray must have had my and my father's numbers on file from past purchases. Well they called my dad at 5:15 this morning and told him his chicks are here! I am laughing, that's a funny I'll never forget!

The woman is coming to get the huge pile of junk on Saturday, seemed very happy to have the job. We'll see. I can't get too optimistic. My husband was wondering if these other people were even getting his messages. I told him that what he's dealing with is a case of "Worker Ruralitis". Nobody shows up to work, leaves you hanging.

That is a thing! My parents owned a house on an island in Maine. We had to rely on the locals for help (paid them well). One summer we asked a local carpenter to replace our rotting front porch steps. He said he would start work after we left in the fall. The next summer - a year later - we arrived on the ferry and found him just beginning to pull off the rotted steps! Sheesh!

I took a few pictures in the gardens, but forgot to post them. Not much to really see yet. This is my Mexican Oregano. I can't kill the stuff. Tom mowed it to the ground and here she is again. I can barely keep my Cuban Oregano in a pot alive and it's apparently very sensitive to cold so I have to bring it inside through winter. This stuff just keeps on going.
