What's the temperature where you are???

South Central Ontario Canada; 09:17hrs
-----------------------------------------------

Currently -18C (0F) and some weird yellowish thingy shining through the window here.... Oh wait! It's the sun - almost didn't recognize it, been so long since it's been sunny.

It was -20C when I got up at 06:00hrs, the forecast high for today is -11C (12F), says it's supposed to be mainly cloudy, sure hope this sun sticks around.

Overnight tonight supposed to be -21C (-6F) and clear (what?! no snow?), then another frigid night and by Monday 'supposed' to warm up to -6C (21F).

But - it's the overnight temps that rule here in the North - the daylight hrs are still not enough to counter the effects of the nighttime darkness, once the overnight temps get closer to the freezing mark then the daytime highs will go about freezing.

Have a splendid day/afternoon/evening everyone - stay warm (or cool) and enjoy your chooks today.

Right now it is 8F (-13C). We had more snow overnight bringing our seasonal total up to 115 inches (2.9 meters). Today is the 8th straight day below 20F (-6C). Tomorrow it is supposed to be colder before getting up to 21F on Monday. That would be 9 days in a row below 20F which is one shy of the record, going back to 1885. I have to get fresh water out to the coop three times a day to keep it unfrozen.

Same here - it hasn't been this cold for this long in about a decade. I am still laughing over the amt of snow Toronto received last week, for once I only received a modest amt (15cm or 8"). Seems this weather will be in place until well into March they say.

I am soooooo looking forward to some mild weather.

Ths chooks are looking forward to being able to dust bath in dirt rather than shavings.

I'd really like the 'warming' to start up hahaha!

Bitterly cold here - I have 7 chooks in my heated feed room tonight, I had to add my two old Silkie Hens to the ones already in there over nights. They are just not handling the cold well. Tomorrow I am going to wall off the end of the barn and put my heater there as a warming zone for them to hang out in if they want.

Currently it's -13C (4F) and overcast still under a cold warning. Forecast low tonight of -19C. Brrrr!
Dang! You KNOW it's cold when we have to heat the coop to prevent pre-frozen chicken!
I got tired of hauling hot water, so I have my waterer sitting on a commercial heat plate. Yesterday, I pulled it outside to dump & refill it, and before I even got it down the steps (my coop is a converted wooden playhouse) it had a hard crust of ice over the top. This is CRAZY!

50° and clear with 44% humidity at 11:00 PM. High tomorrow of 82°. 🤬 Chicken delights will be salmon and backyard greens.
Oooo, you just reminded me that I have a couple of cans of nearly expired salmon! I'm the only one around here who eats it (I do love me some salmon puffs or salmon cakes in the air fryer!) I guess my biddies are gonna get a treat this afternoon!

That big, scary yellow thing's been up in the sky here for the past week, too. As if the cold wasn't enough to keep us in, now the world is blinding, even with good sunglasses ... when they don't fog up because of your breath!
I know, I know ... never happy. Did I mention yet today that I want my flip flops back?

Mine had cheerios - my snack. Ended up all over the floor. Sheesh!
