The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Oh wow I hope you guys don't have to go anywhere. I hear they busted some jackass for setting five fires. I think I would probably leave the windows cracked open maybe an inch or two put out as much water as you can.

Hector does not look nearly as edgy as he did when he was younger, his whole face and demeanor is more relaxed but still alert
Hector has changed a lot. He gets his chest right against the front of my legs when he's begging for something I have, like the biscuit or the pancakes I took out to them, but I don't get the sense that he is a threat anymore. I go in almost every night and rub his chest and tell him that he's a good boy and he lets me for a few seconds before he gets antsy about it. But, he doesn't bite me anymore.

I hope we don't have to go, either. It's getting scary when we see the smoke all day long. It was heavy literally all day today. Here is the sunset for you through the smoke.

Wow, beautiful. That must be the silver lining.

We have been having fabulous sunsets lately, not sure why but they have been just gorgeous. Last night I went down to the beach and took some pictures, the wind was blowing so hard though it was hard to even stand, blew me back a couple times a few steps

We had 25 to 30 MPH sustained winds with higher gusts most of the day yesterday, but temps still in the 50's, very strange for us. when I got back from taking pictures the roof over part of my outdoor run had been, like Dorothy's house, lifted up and set back down on the ground next to the coop completely undamaged. Put that back today, tired down a little better.

So windy here, too, which makes it really hard to contain the fires. We usually burn our paper trash but of course, have not done so lately and it's collecting until we get some rain. I don't see rain in the forecast at all, either.

We are not allowed to burn our trash in California. I hope you stay safe.

Yep! they say California is different. I am on the coast of nc right now but my heart is with our mtns there. My neighbor says there is so much black ash in the air that it appears to be. rainning black snow. Her poor fowl and horses. rain is not anything but a prayer right now. Soo very sad. We live near the airport there and they had to call off air support today. So far they have arrested 3 fire starters. Crazy people.

It's horrible, from Blue Ridge into Murphy and beyond, you cannot see the road to drive on. It looks like the densest fog you've ever seen, but it's too dry for fog, of course. I better not catch someone intentionally starting a fire in the woods around here.
