Well, Hector's girls' eggs are really small, too small, IMO, for optimal hatching. The Brahma eggs are about as large as some of the ones they themselves hatched from, however, only Bailey was laying when I began collecting and then, I moved the boys out after she was hurt so I'm not sure that Brandy's or Bonnie's eggs would even be fertile nor the ones I just collected from Bailey after she's been away from them for a week-they should be, but you never know. Not to mention, until recently, Apollo was grabbing those girls so it would be a complete gamble using the Brahma eggs. I could get a barred Brahma, LOL. From Atlas's group, I have Wynette's eggs, which would be great since I do'nt know if I have any of her progeny. Athena and Lizzie could be hers, but I'm not sure. I also have Tessa and Lizzie's in the collection. I have not kept any from Jill or Mary because they are so small, but I'll check today's eggs and see if they're edging up in size.

Well, there's always having to get rid of the males. Honestly, I need NO more birds right now so I'd probably sell the lot of 'em when she's done with them. I need more old ladies to be gone before I add to the numbers. I lost three, but there are about ten left to go before I can comfortably add any more youngsters, if I'm honest with myself.

Some, mostly in mid to late winter. It's easier with a good broody rather than having to brood chicks, of course. Maretta is just grouchy, screaming at people at the drop off a hat and clucking so she may not go over the edge.
