The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Could it be the heat? I know mine sometimes get watery poop when the temps get really high.
That is true that they have more watery poop in summer, but she's been this way for a year or so. Very frustrating!

Well, I am glowing. I got a PeT scan this morning. The dye they use is slightly radioactive.
Eek!

I hate when I don't get notifications and miss a week of posts!

The chicks sure are beautiful! I hope you can find them good homes.

Thanks, I hope they find homes soon. I sure don't need all these boys, but I am more and more sure every day that the largest one is Hector's. He has a comb like most of Hector's brothers, plus he has Hector's voice and the tendency to alarm at every little thing, a mini-me!

I took pictures of the two boys for my ad since they change so much every couple of days. I really think the bigger one is Hector's and the shorter one with the "tighter" comb is a Stukel. Drea/ Drew is a Stukel for sure and that accounts for the two pullets being Jill's. At least, I think that's the breakdown! I could change my mind tomorrow, LOL! Maybe I have it all wrong, but the taller male #1 has a comb that looks very much like most of Hector's brothers.
See that gravy boat chest? Background is male #2. Pullet in foreground is the one for sale.

Seriously, every time you post pictures I wish I lived close enough to get some of them. They just have such beautiful barring. They are very well built, too.

Thank you, I wish you were closer, too! I will keep MaryJo for Hector and the "it" child until I'm sure what the heck it is. If a pullet, yea for me! I like that chick a lot, smart and calm as well as beautiful. But the other three have to go. I'd even keep the small pullet if I didn't have two boys to get rid of. I guess I could do that, but she is rather small for breeding the way I want, especially when you see her next to MaryJo. I ought to not care and just keep her and spend some time finding homes for the boys. I really ought to. Hector needs women!

How do you get such good photos. By the time I get down and my pictures centered the little buggers are off and running. My chicks are about 8 weeks and won't hold still especially when outside. They are zooming all over the place. I have lots of blurry pictures and tips of tails.

Haha, I do that, too! I follow them around and try to get them when they're distracted by something. I delete quite a few myself, I promise.

Oh, this is funny. I wanted to try to learn to use the YouTube editor more. So I was watching videos about how to add text and intros, etc, to your videos using that tool. I pulled up an old 11 second clip of Apollo chasing off one of the Brahma cockerels to get the pullets and played around with it, added some music. I did not even really listen to the music, just selected ambient genre and a music file that said something about cat-and-mouse. I did not realize that Youtube put it on my channel and I had not even added the title back (they put "My Edited Video" on your new clip when you use the edit tool). I got a comment from a lady whose channel I like and who watches mine saying she and her daughters had watched it three times already and loved it. This is what I created. The music is PERFECT, cracked me up, LOL!

That's so cute, so 60's mod squad.

Omigosh, you're right! It is! :lau

By the way, the lady whose channel I enjoy is Guildbrook Farm (Jaime and Jeremy). They are fairly new to homesteading, live on a 1 acre lot, but they are very smart folks, have chickens and now two goats. Their channel is so professional, but they have done that stuff in their life work, too, so they have a leg up on me in that department.
