The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Came home and the entire top of my "Tim Burton Tree" was in the driveway, just snapped right off. It's been dead awhile now, had plans to cut it down soon anyway and there is another one that already snapped like that by the old chicken pen. I call it the Tim Burton tree because it's so gnarly, it looks like something dark and sinister out of one of his cartoon movies. It's really a blackjack oak.

Cute, looks like it's trying to crawl to a new home.

Went to our county fair yesterday to look at the 4H kids chickens. I found a new adorable breed to interest me, bantam Wyandotte. Unfortunately it seems they are hard to find. They may need to be a future want.

I saw some at a bantam show in Dalton, GA years ago, some Partridge Wyandottes, very cute.

OMGosh....it does look like it's crawling away @oldhenlikesdogs ! Creepy little zombie branch!

It is a creepy tree, but I liked it. They tend to be very brittle, we've found.

Build a fire pit near that fallen tree, and let it look like it's trying to crawl in. Let it be the hit of your next bar-b-q. :)
Might be tricky since it's in the driveway. Good idea!

Is it storming there where you are, Cyn?
Yes, pouring rain. Windy last night and today. We lost power yesterday for a couple of hours.

Tessa, that crazy wench, is broody AGAIN! This is the fourth time, I think. Thea is doing well with her four little Brahma chicks, but she's molting like crazy. Jill is still broody sitting under the roost on nothing. And my partridge Brahma gal, Brandy, is on Day 17 with her Brahma eggs. Had to remove one egg at candling that did not appear to be fertile, or just did not develop, so she has six eggs still.

This thinking about moving household, even to nextdoor, is making me tired. I came up with a great floor plan that is about the same size as my current house, just with the square footage reshaped and wasted space made usable, and now, I'm just tired. Sigh.
