The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

I agree with you. I don't think I would willingly open that door, and put out the welcome mat. You mentioned he had other children, so maybe one of them would be a better candidate.

I'm going to wait and see if more and closer matches come up in the Heritage DNA site. The closest is 3rd-4th cousin, but on which parents' side, I have no clue. I have found only one name on the Fuller side, Bobby's paternal grandmother's maiden name in someone's ancestral name list whose DNA was a very minor match to mine. I found two names on the Westberry side in ancestral names' lists of folks whose DNA had some connection to mine, Wade Sr's mother's maiden name and her mother's maiden name, but that could mean nothing at all. I need some closer relatives to prove anything. I think I'd rather avoid contact with all real people until I have something more to go on. As I said, I am not trying to start any relationships with anyone, I just want to know which man, if either, was my father. Then, I'm done, though if it really is Bobby Fuller, I will let them know that their assumptions were wrong and based on a confused and emotionally scarred girl's claims.

Out of the blue, I got a message from a friend who moved from Ballground, GA years ago, about an hour south of me, to Indiana, where her husband's family is from. They own land there and were building a house. I met her through the Georgia Farmer's Market Bulletin the first year I had chickens by calling on an ad she ran to sell a BR rooster (no, hers was sold already so I didn't get him. Her main BR rooster was Amanda and Becca's sire and I just saw his picture come up on BYC today in a thread I posted on as an example of a proper BR from the internet, weird coincidence!).

Guess who lives in Canton GA now?
Kate H

I had no idea she was moving back. She unexplicably loves her Naked Necks-I can't wrap my head around those-and we used to trade hatching eggs from our BRs back then-hers were McMurray and mine were Ideal stock. So, this is interesting. Canton is a little further from me than where she used to live, but not much.

Off to dentist this a.m. My youngest Partridge Brahma, Cora, is acting like she is going broody. I have no eggs to give her other than her own and they are still rather small. Good grief. I was hoping for no more broodies this year. TTYL.

Hope all goes well at the dentist. I totally agree about the naked necks. A lot of people like them, but they just look weird to me. I can understand why your friend moved back. Dh is from Logansport Indiana. He always thought he would retire, buy his mother's place from her, and we'd live up there. Well, she sold her place, so that killed that idea. I'm so glad. It's way to cold, and they get way too much snow there for my liking.

As good as could be expected, if you're laying upside down like a vampire with your mouth wide open for three hours and then are suddenly $2000 poorer.

I agree, Indiana is way too cold. Maybe when she gets settled here, I can hook her up with some Brahmas, or even her original love, the Barred Rocks.

Now I disagree- Indiana is almost cozy compared to up here. Right Oldhen?
Indiana is balmy compared to here. All our winter weather comes down from Canada.

They keep saying it's so cold here. I'm still warm and waiting for the cold weather yet. 20-30's is nothing. Next week they are talking 40's. Gonna feel too warm.
