The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

 On both accounts. Nice looking machine. Looking forward to seeing what you can create with it.

Me, too! I could never have afforded a new one when it came out, didn't even know how to use a machine when this was a new thing. This one was used, serviced yearly, seems well-cared-for. I won it on Ebay, actually, bid on one that the seller would only take paypal, not credit cards through Ebay like most will do. That one sold a tiny bit cheaper, but not by much. This one, I was the only bidder, which seemed very odd, but it is a good buy at 1/3 the price of a new one.

Nice!

See this thread is interesting on so many levels. Science- history- sewing- emotional support and oh chickens too
It does run the gamut!
Just stopping in quickly to say I'll be off forum for about a week and a half. I'm not even caught up now...big project at work keeping me from reading.

See y'all later!
We'll miss you!

I need to get my dna kit sent in. I bought them on sale also. Gave one to my dad for Christmas.
Sounds like a very interesting story of finding your dad.

Your new machine is beautiful. My sister sews a lot. She has about 5 different machines.
most serious quilters have two or more machines. This one was such a good deal, couldn't pass up trying to win the auction.

Wow, that machine could almost quilt without you!

Well, not quite. Those would be the computerized longarm machines that cost about 15K. This one is still me doing the work, just with nicer tools! I worked and saved up money from quilts sold for this one and I could have kept going and bought a new one, but didn't seem necessary. There is a Janome dealer about 15 miles away in Murphy, NC. In Blue Ridge, there is only a baby lock dealer (always thought that was an odd name) and there is a Brother dealer in Blairsville, but I never saw one of their machines at this price level. This 7700 came out originally in 2010 and has had various incarnations since then. They're up to the 15000 now, I think, super pricey!
Janome has a lot of diehard customers and this seemed a fabulous choice.
