The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

I think folks of a certain age (incl. moi) need to wear bumper pads around us to prevent ground contact. We can just be roly poly humans but, will need help standing up.

Cyn you WIN hands down. Hope nothing broke.

Now, wherever will I put the trophy on my newly dusted mantel? Dubious honor, right? Dont think anything is broken, just scraped and sore.

Boy, take care of yourself, and DH. Hope your better by Saturday !!!
Me, too!

Sounds like a plan.

Folks of a certain age need bubble wrap lined clothes, and shoes.
I've been like this since I moved up to the mountains. Fallen forward, backward, straight downward crunch (which broke the ankle so loudly that DH heard it 20 ft away), etc. I have become at one with the dirt.

Wow! , I didn't know anyone was like that but me. three yrs ago I was walking under my garage area and down I went. Embarassed, I got up and thought I was fine. When I reached with my rt. hand to pick up a container it would not work.!!!!! I took a look at it and it was my wrist twisted side ways off the joint and the lower bones in the arm were broken. Many weeks later with surgery and pins it did get well. I use it now with no problem. Since then I have fallen, but did not have any damage other than my pride.LOL Cyn. hope you are ok too.

We are limping around, but we're still getting ready for company Saturday. I made pumpkin bread, though used butternut squash instead. And I'm working on a fall colors cabin-y quilt for us. In the middle of all that, got a package from my son from South Korea. This was in it-he sent me a tree stump, hahaha! Guess it's a tribute to the woods we live in.

But, the little pillow will match the colors in the quilt I'm piecing, I'm thinking, using the same fabrics as in this table topper I did (more true color in that photo of the topper).

It's the "fall" season!

Last week I fell out of the chicken house. There is a step made from 2 short pieces of 4x4 that has been there for years, half sunk in the ground. As I came out the door and stepped down, they both rolled in different directions, how i don't know. I grabbed for the door frame, caught my foot - with my bad knee- behind the sill and crashed down. My bad knee leg doubled up under me and got left in the doorway, the rest of me banged down on the ground. I was sure I had broken 5 legs and lay there moaning and thinking I didn't have my phone and no one was home - it was the classic "I've fallen and I can't get up" moment! But then I thought - the step rolled away and there are years of "creepy crawlies" under there - and now they are under ME! Suddenly I was able to leap up and dust myself off - even with 5 broken legs!

I was pretty shaken up and ,boy, did I have one heck of a huge hematoma and bruise on one half of my butt, but nothing broken . I sure can sympathize, Cyn!!! Hope you both are feeling better now.

Ouch, ouch ouch! I did that, too, once, right out of Isaac's door, stepped on a rock that shifted and down I went onto my back-that one had me limping for over a week. We're a mess, aren't we?

I just came across the thread where you were out of commission after you broke your ankle. Good grief, girl! You really did a number on yourself - you have to be careful with that ankle! You don't want to re-injure that again!
