The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Okay, still no visible pips in the other two eggs, though they are alive and in the air cells. I hope they hurry up. I dont like single chicks, even with a broody.

Introducing another son of Ida and Atlas. I'd say male due mostly to that all-over-the-place head spot, but hey, been wrong with this crowd before so who knows?
Short video being uploaded now.

Atlas and his carefree women, dustbathing with abandon while Wynette and Ida toil with his kids.

Video is up!

Awesome!!

Its the cutest little guy!! Is it all beef or does it have some dairy in there?

I'm not sure, to be honest. I think my husband said he is an angus cross. He was a twin and momma rejected him but kept the female. My husband used to raise cattle when he was a teenager, so this is his baby, really. I just have to feed him in the mornings! We wanted to get the boys into 4H with a couple goats in the future, but it looks like we went BIG right away.

Thats to bad! At least you got a calf! I would get a halter on him and get him used to leading if your going to use him for 4H. Congrats on the calf!

Oh and Cyn guess whos bag is filling up with milk? Lady the milk cow! I will post pictures whenever she calves!

We did get a calf the other night from a big Baldy. Now tgere is two calves here!

It's here, Cyn! My quilt has arrived and way nicer than it looked in the pictures!! I can now really appreciate the amount of work you put into these- it's amazing! And thanks so much for the little "extras". It's funny - I actually have the pattern for the cute crocheted chicken but never got around to making it. It's so colorful - I love it. And the coasters are too nice to use! I love the little pockets. I'm very happy - thank you!

I thought you'd appreciate the Henpecked hotpad. The mug mats are really easy to make. There were some women at the senior center in town, who, when someone took a set I made for them there ( almost couldn't get them back), the ladies tucked the base of their wine glasses in it, but generally, they're just meant to be used just flat, as-is, either side. I use mine here all the time, just throw them in the washer and dryer when needed. So, use 'em! Quilts are meant to be used and so are they.
