I sorry to hear about Caroline! She lived a great life with you!

Thank you so much. We sure loved her and I know she knew it. Never had a chicken live as long as Caroline and I don't know if any others will. Becca won't make it the few months until she's ten years old. No idea if Amanda will or not and how the loss of her two best pals will affect her.

On a different note, I'm trying something completely outside my comfort zone, a v-blog on youtube, uploading now. We'll see how that goes. I may be so horrified by myself on video that it will never happen again, LOL. We shall see. I can't change my face or my voice so, as Popeye used to say, "I am what I am and that's all that I am". Stuck with it.

You may regret asking that, but if you want to see my ugly mug, yeah, if I get up the nerve, LOL. I really need a makeover if I want to do more of them, that's for sure, but if I wait until I lose 10 more lbs or fix my hair issues, it will never happen.

Times two. This upcoming speing I want to have a garden, mostly for the chickens though to help with feed costs. Never realized how much they eat in preparation for winter.

They do eat a lot. I'm back to allowing some free range time since we have not seen the dogs in quite awhile now. Atlas has his super-spurs (last time we blunted them, he struggled so much, he broke 3 of the discs and we don't have anymore) so his weaponry is intact, but the younger males are pretty much helpless in that regard.

ETA: when I do youtube, I go by the surname I was born with, rather than my maiden or married name, for privacy's sake, in case some who know my name are wondering about that.

Thanks on both counts. It's weird, counting just 7 hens in that pen rather than 8 now. I kept looking for #8 after I put them back inside after letting them out yesterday, then remembered I was missing a very important chicken-person.
