No, no alcohol. He has an oxygen machine all the time and still smokes so he's always in danger of blowing himself up, almost did once. When those levels go down, he hallucinates and has blackouts. Not a candidate for driving anymore. That means someone else will have to shop for him, more on their plate. And he'll make sure they pay for a lot of it, beg poverty, when he certainly can live off what his disability pays if he even tried one whit.Wow that's a tough spot with your BIL.is he drinking? I guess if the cops smelled booze they would have told you.
This is a good place to vent. No family can read my BYC. Unlike Facebook.
The fabric on the back is fabulous.
Sounds like it would be best if he was moved closer to the sister's, if they want to take him on. When people have a death wish there is little you can do.
We have a casino in town and i find it both grotesque and fascinating when people sit at the slots with an oxygen tank hooked to their nose and a lit cigarette in their hand. I'm sure fire regs would prevent it if it was not sacred tribal land![]()
Oh, trust me, I'm not taking him on. The others give him more rope than I would. And the more they give, money, time, etc, the more he asks for, never truly grateful for any of it as far as I can tell. I can see how some men end up homeless. If he didn't have his sisters, being kicked out of his apartment, no vehicle, he might find himself on the streets. Hopefully, he can get a place in a VA nursing home since he was briefly in the Navy as a young man. There's one in Augusta, GA on the S. Carolina border, but he would resist going, I bet. Anyway, my husband is leaving early tomorrow to go up there. I hope he gets there safely, dumps his brother back at the apartment and comes home without a hitch. Going to bed to read now. Yawn. Talk to you guys tomorrow. You make him sound so appealing![]()
You and Tom are not responsible for caring for someone who's already made their own life decisions, and made choices that are completely contrary to what you can tolerate. Let him live the life he chooses.
COPD, when acting up, can cause a lack of oxygen, which in turn causes "fuzzy" thinking, and can cause loss of consciousness too. This might explain what happened to him.
I hope your husband's back doesn't hurt too bad from the trip, or that he can take something to alleviate the pain afterwards.
Glad to hear that Hector is finally trying to grow a tail.
