The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

That table topper is a beauty!

Fingers crossed for some rain your way!

Thank you, I almost missed your post, so sorry!

No smoke today, which seems odd, but I'll take it.

Hector photos for you. He's quite photogenic, don't you think? The ones of the girls didn't turn out so great. My Youtube video will have chicken videos rather than my ugly mug, if it ever downloads. A ten minute video can take six to eight hours to upload due to our super slow DSL (we have no other choices here, the phone company has a monopoly at our location on internet). I just had the camera trained on the various groups milling around and dustbathing.

Are those tail feathers I see growing in on his backside?
The side ones are in and there are some sickles underneath that are starting to emerge so maybe one day, we'll see a balanced Hector.

And Cyn what do you think about his barring? It looks really stunning to me, but I am an amature
It's very nice, yes. Both he and Apollo have almost identical barring, a few chevron-barred feathers in the saddles on both, but overall, both are very, very good. Apollo is a very big improvement over his daddy, Atlas. Neither of the boys match up to the original Rex, but he was head and shoulders above almost every BR cockerel I've ever seen and it would be a miracle to see another of his caliber here, I think.

I was going to say, don't tell me those are tail feathers growing!
Yes, I think they are beginning to peek through, FINALLY!
