The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

yes, how I always referred to her since she was only a couple years older than me and from Venezuela, married my father to become a citizen, then, as I predicted (and NO ONE would listen) she pretty much abandoned him when she got what she wanted. Yeah, Hoochie-Mama fits.

Yes, hoochie-mama fits. There are not a lot of men that I've felt sorry for, but there have been a few decent men, that have been raked over the coals by an evil, money grubbing, hoochie-mama, that I've actually felt sorry for. You are right about no one listening. They buy into it hook, line, and sinker.

MY FIL was worse, in a way. My mother died in Nov 1999. Tom's mother died in January 2000. My father married 4 years later, the aunt of the man next door. Tom's father married TWO MONTHS LATER to a woman both spouses knew when they drove school buses for the county. His sisters were all over the wedding for some odd reason, getting involved. I thought it was supremely inconsiderate of them both, the kids grieving for their mother, who was only in her early 60's. But, they'd known each other 15 years, which made us all suspect something was going on before their mom died. He left everything to her in the will, of course, no consideration at all for his kids. My father did not even have a will, but in my case, it may have worked slightly to my advantage-could have been worse than her getting 1/3 of the house proceeds, though she was not entitled, IMO. That was my mother's house for 20 years. I'd rather a homeless shelter or some stranger have gotten it than her.

There is nothing dumber than a lonely old man. (unless it's my own sister, but that's another story)

I had an aunt, that when she got cancer, and nothing was working, she picked out who her husband was to date, after a respectable time, and marry. It was her dying wish that they date, and eventually marry. She let everyone in the family know about it, all her friends, and everyone at church, so there would be no tongues wagging. A year after she died, they began dating, and sure enough, they decided they were compatible. 10 months after their first date, they got married.

But, did she or he have children? That's what bothers me, that someone can come in very, very late, marry the guy/woman and they push out the children entirely. I honestly do not think folks at that late stage should remarry but some men just can't seem to take care of themselves without a woman to cook and clean up after them, I swear. I told my dad to get a maid or a nurse, to please not marry that opportunist and he would not listen to me.

I have told my sons and my husband that if he passes away before me, there will NEVER, EVER be another man living in my house and that includes my own sons. I have zero desire to bring some man into my life. That is over, OVUH! I will be alone and I'm fine with that. I just want to rig some way for somebody to know I died up here so my animals don't starve to death. Seriously. No one would even check on me for months. If by some miracle, someone called or emailed and did not get a response, they'd still not come, just assume I didn't get it. But, my animals, that's who I worry about.
