The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

As with all things, there has to be BALANCE.

Yes, exactly. I often think when I see kids running rings around their parents, "Who's in charge here, anyway?". Of course, I know. It's not the parents. My sons were spanked. Not beaten, spanked, and when they deserved it for something really big or when it was a life or death, like running across a street without permission or without looking for traffic, something that was critical. They knew disrespect was not tolerated. But, we did not micromanage their lives, either. We said you can pick one or maybe two sports activites, depending on the time they took up, but not ten. We were not going to be kid-chauffeurs and nothing else. And they did not have to so involved and wear themselves out so they could not excel in school, either. Balance is exactly right. Now, whatever happened when they left our care is on them. The world and the school systems have a huge grip on them. I'd not send my kids to today's public schools, not at all. I really didn't want to then, but had to because I did not feel equipped to homeschool and being military, it was hard to put them in any private school and be yanked out for a change of station. And military salaries are not conducive to private schools anyway, not with a stay-at-home-mom and only that one income.

Me, too! I told my husband first thing this a.m. "We don't need no stinking made up holiday for St-Whoever to know we love each other. We say it every day, several times a day, so ha!". And we do.
I told my doctor about the ACV tea concoction I drank and made Tom drink when we got sick that has helped up with this cold or whatever is was. She was really interested in the ingredients. So, I told her all the stuff I put in it. And then, my SIL asked about my "secret tea" remedy. We also bought some zinc and other immune booster formula fizzy tablets to keep this mess going on outta here, plus a bottle of vitamin C 1000 mg and are taking several of those each day. Beats antibiotics and other stuff, which have little effect on a virus anyway.

My last doctor would have pooh-poohed any natural remedies at all and told me to get a flu shot. He had a one track mind.

Just a rant, my stupid HP printer won't scan the alignment page during the alignment process and my photos are printing out with lines. I'm about to toss it out the window. I've always hated it's printing anyways. I have wasted my whole day trying to print, and now I can't. I get so angry at computer junk.

I guess now I need to buy a new printer if I want photos. Crapity crap.

Oh and I can't watch my Judge Judy because people are shooting each other again. What is wrong with the world.

I'm with you. Honestly, I wish all the gangs would just eliminate each other and then the rest of us might be able to live in peace. Let the meth-heads blow themselves up with their labs, it's natural selection. I hate when I have to hear every single stupid detail of these shootings. Tell me it happened and move on. That's what these shooters want, to be famous for killing a lot of people. Don't give them the time.

Oh, I was out with Maretta's six BR chicks. I have four pullets and two cockerels, pretty sure. Though one little pullet is the smallest, she looks normal to me at this point. She's not excessively small, just not quite as large as the other two.

Of course, the boys both will come right up to me (of course they do-I'm a rooster magnet) and the pullets are shy. BUT, I was holding a jar of grain mix on its side for Maretta to eat out of the jar, holding my hand with some in it next to the lip of the lid when one of the pullets jumped on her back and walked down to me and pretty much walked right into the jar to eat some for herself, LOL!

And a bonus photo of MaryJo. I needed it to advertise her chicks for sale when I offer them.
