I am continually amazed at your beautiful creative quilting and crocheting! And at the speed with which you turn these creations out! You just started this a couple of days ago - unbelievable! When I start a project (I only crochet) it takes me forever and I'm embarrassed to say I have quite a few UFO's. I seem to get inspired in spurts. But you get an idea, no pattern, and just barrel on through and finish it in days. AND you've been sick - I don't know how you do it!

Hey, you know I get into all sorts of trouble if I'm not occupied! LOL. Love you, Robin. You're too sweet, girl. And, I did this video with my husband today, in between trying to solve a quilt dilemma. I tried to remove the sound, but my program was being glitchy. It is rather quiet, though, and doesn't interfere with my voice-over. Tom's voice was completely shot from coughing so I had to do that part. This one is about grafting fruit trees.

Thank you! I asked him to do one for my channel, but it didn't look like his voice was coming back anytime soon. You had to listen to birds singing and crowing and see Atlas make a cameo in the background.

Here I am again - hardly ever write but keeping up with Cyn and you all. I love knowing how you all are doing.
Since I care, I worry about you.

Very briefly - there are 2 people in my life who are very important to me who have been badly damaged by influenza virus. My dear son-in-law, a big handsome guy who ran his own business , is now on disability and waiting for a heart transplant after the flu attacked his heart. The only thing keeping him alive as he waits is a pump actually in his heart with wires running to batteries strapped to his side. My daughter has to change his dressings daily and rush him to the hospital whenever he has a crisis. We hope and pray for a transplant soon.
The other person is my boss who for the 25 years that I've known him has been profoundly deaf - caused by an attack of the flu which he caught as an adult. His best friend told me they were at a party, Mr K. came down with the flu and lost his hearing that very evening. He is very wealthy and has spent tons of money on the latest hearing aids and implants - all for nothing. He can read my lips - that's it. I just do not think anybody should take chances with their health when there is a vaccination that can prevent or at least reduce the affects of the virus.
OK, rant over. I'll go back to lurking.

Oh, I hope your son-in-law is able to get a new heart soon. 3 winters ago our neighbors 5-year old died suddenly after the flu attacked his heart, it was heartbreaking.

Spring! Think Spring! I rearranged the blocks on this quilt so it wasn't so narrow and long, which meant I had to make one extra block for it to get 4x4 on the rows.

The quilt is so cute! Do you know what size it’ll end up yet? I’m thinking twin size would be perfect for a little girl and I might need to save up and buy it from you.

Kara! I'm so sorry, I missed that last part! I wasn't ignoring you, I promise! I'm really not sure exactly, but right now, it's about 72" square so I'd have to elongate the quilt somehow. It's wide enough, but just not long enough, not quite. I was going to just maybe add a sort of wide border to it in a solid color or a fabric that "reads" like a solid. If I did a 5" border, it would add 10" to the width and length. I'll think on that. Yes, it would be a great little girl's quilt, you are right!

I also choose not to vaccinate for the flu or anything else at my age. I feel the continuing hep b vaccine I was forced to take for my job is the reason for my poor health and extreme fatigue I have now.

I don’t trust our government at all. They do not have our best interest at heart. They just want to make us all dependent in the government so we have no free will left. I have been on a holistic journey for a few years now and I have a lot more to learn.

I am very sorry you have close relatives that have been harmed by the flu virus. It isn’t any fun to see loved ones suffer.
I just want the freedom to make my own choices.

It’ll be gorgeous no matter how you do it, like your other quilts. One day I’d love to learn to quilt, when I no longer have so many little kids at home. Nothing dresses a bed better than a beautiful handmade quilt.

Well said. I'm sorry your health is not good. It's awful when your mind is sharp and your body won't cooperate.

Thank you, Kara. When I started, I had my two boys in elementary school in the mid-80's in Ohio when we were at Wright-Patterson AFB. I can't imagine trying to do it with a lot of little ones underfoot, but I did it all by hand, no machine for them to mess with, either.

@kitkat5505 this is what I've decided to do to make this spring quilt into a twin:
I'm putting 2" border top and bottom only, adding strips of blocks top and bottom of 9" star blocks, same star block as in the center, just smaller, and then, I'll border around the entire thing with the same deep purple as the dividing border between the main quilt and the two strips of smaller stars. I need sixteen 9" star blocks and I've made two and have to quit for the day on this project. Ran out of steam.

**if you see trash on my carpet, it's shavings off my socks, LOL. I wear my chicken shoes and leave them outside the kitchen door, but my socks have shavings on them that I can't always knock off before I come inside. Too cold not to wear socks! I swear I vacuum this craft room rug multiple times a week just because of the shavings issue.

And, since this is a chicken thread, EGGS!
