The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Nice barring on some of those little baby wings

Yup, you see it on the males way before the females in these. The girls will get theirs over time.

I'm so close to selling Lizzie and Tessa. Liz's poop is just water, always water, or watery sludge. I can't fix it no matter what I do, worming or probioitics, nothing works. And she's a little bit of a bully. Tessa, well, Tessa is "touch-me-not" Tessa. And both have the broody propensity, but only Liz has ever raised chicks. They're about 3 years old, not sure what to ask for them, no idea if they carry a dwarf gene, being daughters of Atlas. I usually would ask $10 each, but never sold a hen this age that I recall.

My oldest rooster has been laying down a lot. He is about three. Huge Orpington. I just don’t recall seeing laying down. When he gets up he doesn’t seem to have any problems with his legs except his spurs are huge. I will catch him tonight and clip his spurs and see if anything is wrong with his legs

Because their weight is so much, it could be he jumped down and hurt himself just a little bit, or ran and did some turning maneuver running after hens and is a bit sore. Hard to say. If you find something off, let us know.

Ok, I will . Three doesn’t sound old but I don’t know what it is in chicken years. What breed was bash?
