I don't understand the connection in someone not paying bills and us not getting the usual military discount unless we get on some list.

Sounds like their veterans discount is nothing more than a gimmick to get people to shop there, otherwise they wouldn't have requirements on it. That's unfortunate.

It's just another way for them to get money, and to look good by giving a discount. If you can and do pay your cards off every month they make nothing, but still get to say they give a discount. If you don't pay it off they make some of that discount back. And quite a few people rack up big interest on minimum payments and late fees on credit cards.

I realize that is a jaded view, but true nonetheless. Big corporations in general do nothing that is not potentially profitable in some way.

I know a guy that brought his Orps to TSC for a few years but now a lot of Poultry people (especially show people) are boycotting TSC... I haven’t and probably won’t go to a TSC again..

Well, join the club. Cora, my barely a year old partridge Brahma pullet is broody, plucking her belly, screaming at everyone, hogging one nest all day long. I can give her eggs. I have over a dozen ready to go.

It is awful, making vets jump through hoops for their crumbs. Home Depot so far has not instituted any rules like that.

Yeah, I am not a TSC fan, that's for sure.

I'm pin-basting the quilt now. I have a thread coming I want to use on it so it will be a few days before that's here. Anyway, it will take a couple more hours to baste it all the way. Here are pics of her. Now, to keep that cat out of my craft room. He's sneaky as heck and he loves quilts. The top pic is too dark, the lower one is more true to color, very cheerful spring quilt.

Lowe's here is usually more expensive than home depot. I think home depot gives veterans a discount too, but without having to sign up for their card. We are centrally located between 2 of them. I really prefer one over the other. The one I prefer always has more stuff in stock, so it's easier to get what you go in for.

Our HD is not as nice as the Lowe's, never has the right stuff, etc. But, we'll see how HD does from now on, I guess. They don't carry a decent brand of welded wire fencing, I know that is one reason I quit going. Anyway, they'll lose some folks over it and others will just do what they're told and sign up for the card. Off to bed, yawn.
