The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

For @oldhenlikesdogs my son's shepherd, Sophie. Isn't she pretty?

I think I better get to bed and rest my poor back or there's no way I can quilt tomorrow. G'nite, friends.

Here is layer pellets View attachment 1294266 I use.
What is the brand of that feed? I wonder about the non-corn, though. The cost might go sky high if they put non-GMO organic corn in the bag. What is the cost of that particular feed for you? The scratch I feed has several kinds of peas which my birds love and by itself, since it's really a complete feed for gamecocks, is 16% and has some of the same stuff your feed does, just no calcium.

Well, it's not looking good for my Rowena, Atlas's sister and Hector's 3rd hen. Her comb is shrunken, listing to the side and purplish. She acted as if she didn't feel very well the last week or so, I noticed, but she is not bloated. If you recall, she bloated up twice. The first time, I gave her penicillin, knowing it was not going to do much good. The bloat left for awhile and then, came back, but eventually dissipated on its own. She never laid another egg after the first bloat and I felt she never would. Guess I was right.

@1muttsfan , Mary, do you think maybe cancer? She will be 4 years old in April with Atlas and Wendy.

I just got an email from a fellow YouTube creator who has a very popular channel. Because of harassment, nasty trolls and cliquishness on YouTube, plus their incessant messing with the monetization of their channel (they yank the money-making aspect of certain videos with no real explantion or they say it's "inappropriate"--yeah, like feeding hogs is bad, LOL), she is backing off her presence on the channel, but she wanted me to know personally. She is so burned out. I just hate that. I had to delete a troll two days ago myself. People are so darn mean. That was the subject of my older video from last year:

I had excitedly joined a few Australian shepherd groups on Facebook only to find the nastiness too much. I left most of the group's and I don't post anything. I never knew what people are really like, it is sad. The internet gives people a sense of anonymity. I hope most wouldn't act that way in person, but I'm afraid many will these days. It's becoming a scary wood now that everyone is "connected". Thankfully BYC is mostly a safe place and they don't tolerate such bad behaviors.
