Last night was hairy. We had the worst storm. At one time, it felt like the house exploded, then I thought I saw lightning inside the house, a huge flash and crackle. So, nothing was out there last night, not unless it/he was very motivated. I haven't gone out there yet to see if any of the birds died of fright, which would not have been out of the realm of possibility with that BOOM!

I went out just now to see if my camera would take photos of the dense fog. The first two were with my flash. I turned it off and finally got a real picture. Boy, the air is saturated!

And my headboard is right against a window. I leave it cracked for fresh air and to hear "stuff" outside. I heard a lot of stuff last night, eek! My husband's computer was hard wired into the router and I think that cable is fried. We have everything on battery backup/surge protection, but we unplug most everything anyway since we've lost too many things to this mountain power's brownouts and blackouts over the years. He can get on with wifi at least. I unplugged my quilting machine last night and I'm very glad I did!

I'm very careful to never leave my computers plugged in, too much stuff to loose there. I should do the same for the tv, but just don't, my BF would have a fit if he had to plug it in to watch it. I should replace the surge protector on that, it's several years old. But we are likely a few months away from thunderstorms.

Some of these no name storms do as much, or more damage than the major named ones. Glad you can connect thru wifi. The cable doesn't cost too much to replace. Good thing you guys unplugged.

I hate when the air gets totally saturated like that. It's hard to breathe.

Sunny until this afternoon. High's about 60, then tomorrow's high 43 and snow flurries. Geez, nice first day of spring. It's like one day of winter surrounded by days of spring.

There may be a hitch in our fiber optic internet. Called the company who says it shows only cable internet here, not fiber optic. But the map and the locator shows this address can get fiber optic. ACK! We are the last ones that show fiber optic and everyone down the main subdivision road is out of luck. But, we may be, too, if their website is wrong. We still ought to switch. We loathe TDS! Waiting on a call back after the woman speaks to their engineers, but their site is 100% bogus if there is no fiber optic at my address.

Look at this. Still waiting on a call-back. They don't even show DSL available at my address, only the fiber optic in green. (my road name is not even on the map, haha, but it's in there).

After going round and round with ETC, calling their main headquarters about 30 miles from us, not the one closest to us, they say they'll have to send an engineer out to our house to verify that fiber optic is even here, maybe today. WTH? Is this any way to do business, not even knowing for sure where your lines go? They say it may be that their website is incorrect. Well, they'd better be ready for a flood of angry phone calls because this area has been waiting for an alternative, ANY alternative to TDS for years. Yeah, just dangle that carrot, snatch it away and there will be some angry bunnies around this place!
